A lot can change in the New Year. As the holiday season finally and mercifully comes to an end, our entire next year of new beginnings is starting. The new year can bring motivation, change, and exciting adventures! If you have a little baby during this transitional time, then you may want to consider changing or modifying your infant’s sleep routine. One would even say you could make a resolution to upgrade their sleep routine to the best it can be! If you have some tips for ringing in the new year with a new sleep routine for your child, let us know in the comments. We love hearing what you have to say and learning how people from all around have tackled these issues.

New Year, New Sleep Environment!

2023 is the year to finally put all of your great baby bedroom ideas to work! Upgrading your child’s sleep environment (either their bedroom or yours or both!) can help them fall asleep faster, sleep longer, and wake up more rested and in a better mood. It’s really a win-win for all involved. Here are some things that you can do to help get those upgrades going:

  • Get a white noise machine. Our families love the Lectrofan and the Hatch Rest Baby Sound Machine
  • Install blackout blinds
  • Upgrade their crib or even just their crib mattress
  • Buy a new sleep sack and/or swaddle
  • Add a few air purifying plants like snake plants and aloe vera
  • Install a colorful and fun mobile (over the changing table only!)
  • Add noise canceling panels around their walls and on the door to the room. That will help block out noises from outside their sleeping area to help them get a more relaxing and peaceful sleep

New Year, New Sleep Plan!

Get together with your partner and come up with a solid sleep plan. Plan out how you’re going to adjust your sleep and care giving habits when your baby goes through their sleep leaps and regressions.

Hiring A Sleep Professional = Good Sleep For The Whole Family

One thing that would make a huge impact to your sleep and your baby’s sleep is to hire a Newborn Care Specialist or Sleep Consultant like ones that we here at The Early Weeks are proud to offer. We can help you with overnight care, sleep training, and any other newborn / baby issues that you may have. We will be a third set of hands to help take over child care while you sleep so that you can finally catch up on your own much needed rest so that you can wake up rested and refreshed and ready to take on the day, whatever may come your way in this exciting new year.
